I was born and raised in central North Carolina, USA... 1/2 city-boy, 1/2 country-boy, and 1/2 space cadet.
I went to school and learned some stuff there, but mostly I got smart from taking things apart and putting them back together. I love tinkering and learning a little bit about a lot of things... just enough to get myself in trouble... I think I'm pretty SMRT!
I've been a software entrepreneur since I was 13
I Rode my bicycle from Portland, ME to Wilmington, NC (with a lot of zigging and zagging) over the course of 4 months and 5000 miles
Completed 2 IronMan triathlons and probably around 100 of endurance races
I love to tinker with robotics, microcontrollers, electronic sensors and input devices
I'm passionate about
Innovative technology that can improve quality of life
Alternative energy sources, storage, and applications
Accessible engineering for both the physical and the digital worlds
Some cool projects I've worked on (most of which never made it past a few years of operation)
International Professor Exchange Network circa 2001
Radioactive material tracking system for storage, decay, and disposal
Vehicle routing optimization for pickup and delivery with time windows and constraints
Mobile apps for vehicle tracking, dispatching, payments, and compliance
HIPAA security compliance
Corporate entity formations, purchases, and sales
